Thought I would pop in today with a quick share of what I accomplished during my January 2015 Challenge,
Starting with these Jillibean Soup alpha letters, using them completely up was my challenge.. and I am happy to report I did it.. woo hoo!
I made three projects and I am so happy with them, who knew I would be able to put together such cute stuff using a product I kind of felt like I was over... I mean really over- I had hardly used them to begin with and to use them up was great- Out of my stash!!
I've got a video share here at you tube explaining what I made and used up for January-
I am sharing a fun layout today of fall activities from last year.. So fun & I had this layout featured over at the Michigan Magazine on one of their special segments.. I love it and I love the movement it has.
This concept can be done with just about anything if you think about it.. Snow & Bubbles are my top pics, but really the ideas are endless-
I will add that I used my glue gun to adhere the leaves so I could give them some dimension..
Would love to hear your thoughts, & thanks for stopping by today
Hello friends, I am here today with-yes, another Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge entry-
I was a runner up last week with my baby card, but today I am sharing a fun Birthday card for the Anything Goes Paper Smooches blog, you can check out more here.
So like I mentioned, this is my VERY 1st attempt at a shaker card, and I think this little beauty turned out so darn cute..
I used the Party Pals stamp set for the main polaroid image, and actually it was a bit big for what I was making so I ended up stamping the balloon twice and cutting the second one out and adding it lower, closer to the bunny to fit in better.
The sentiments & that curly Q came from a few other set: WooHoo is from Chubby Chums, Happy Birthday is from Birthday Buddies & the curly Q thingy is from the Bee Mine set.
I colored my images and added sequins from my stash...
I think my little birthday girl is going to love it!!
Thanks for stopping in today, and all the stamps I used can be found at the paper smooches store
Just popping in today quickly to share a fun picture from the Scrappy weekend that I hosted this past weekend.
Yesterday I posted a card that I made, but I mostly worked on layouts, and I managed to get 4 done and I am happy to report am all caught up.
I am sitting down today to print my Sept. project life pics, & then I will get a jump on finishing that over this week.
You may recognize these ladies from previous crafty adventures with me, I love having girls to spend time with and share our crafty passion together...
Thanks for stopping by...
Woo Hoo!!- I'm back as promised with a crafty share:
Today I am sharing a layout I made of my sweet girl turning 9 last year, this child melts my heart..
I was on a mission to use up that banner paper which I have had in my stash forever and a day-
Any one else out there feel a small victory using up something that you have been looking at and flipping past for years.. thumbs up for sure :)
This layout was based on what I call the "pocket theory".. lol, but yes anytime I use a strip of something and add a bunch of pics & embellishments behind it, I feel like they look like a pocket bursting with goodness, and I love that look.
This layout is bursting with Beautiful Birthday Girl Bliss and I think it turned out so cute!
As always I made sure to use a stamp or two on my project and the rest was from this n that-
Thanks for stopping by today & if you have any questions just ask...
Head over to my FB page as well and Like my page :)
Well my kiddies finally went back to school this week, and I am just today sitting down to blog on my own and view other crafty blogs that I like to check out from time to time-
I have to say it was one heck of a summer, and yes although busy with a huge landscaping project I did manage to stay up to date with my PL and as a matter of fact, I am currently half way done with my August... I thought I would share what I have been working on...
Here's the before of our side yard, taken at the end of May 2014
And here is the After taken just over this past weekend- Yes Momma got a hot tub for her bday back in January, but do to the super cold weather and all the snow we had here, we couldn't start this whole project till May-
Now this side yard was the last of three projects that we completed, we started with replacing the railing and staining our bottom deck then we moved that big air conditioner(seen in the picture-that circular object by the house at the bottom)
We also had to build a place to move that air conditioner.. UGH, but alas it's done and beautiful..
All that is left is some landscaping and adding deck and patio lights-
We have already been enjoying it though-
Here are a few more pics
And here is the wall we built in the back yard to put the air conditioner-
Well, thanks for stopping in today, I will be back next week with a Crafty share-
It has literally been a month, and man it only feels like a week has gone by-
I have been up to my eyeballs with a landscaping project, so although I have been squeezing time in to craft, this blog has been neglected for sure.
I am not even going to say that I will be back next week, because at this point: who the heck knows how my week will turn out...
Well so enough apologies, I am sharing a 12x12 layout today that I made for Halloween last year, and I just love it. I am in love with mists and sequins right now, so they make an appearance on nearly every layout I make these days-
I have also been on a altering kick lately so if something doesn't work for me with a project I make it so it does-
Case in point the title for this page, the word fright was made with puffy alpha stickers that were from a Christmas line, so they were bright red- I made them work by coloring them with a silver sharpie..
Quick fix, and all was good. I am on a quest to use up packages of bits that I have only a few left of around here, and Alphas are no exception..
I don't buy thickers anymore because of the "What do I do with the left over letters" factor, and really I have enough font options between my alpha dies and my cameo that I can let the little stash of thickers I have dwindle..
I have even considered inner mixing fonts that are the same color to use them up-
So here is my share, I love the banners and the spiders cut with my cameo...
Thanks for stopping by today, and I HOPE to see you soon...
In the meantime, I hope this layout inspires you..
Oh Boy, I've been a BAD blogger... sorry to say with my kids finishing up their school year and Summer here, I have let this little blog of mine get neglected... :(
I thought since I had some quiet time tonight that I would sit and get back in the swing of things.. LOL I hope... It's hard to keep on track like most of you know when the kiddies are home 24/7, but I intend to give it my best effort.
So today's share is of a layout I put together after taking my kids to their 1st College Football game..
Big MSU fans in our family so it was only fitting that this be their 1st game. They loved it and the weather was amazing; great day to celebrate Homecoming for sure.
I let the photos do most of the taking about the day, and I love adding memorabilia any where I can, so the tickets had to find a place on this page.
Not a huge fan of purple but it was an accent color added on the ticket stub so I went with it..
Great day all around-Well see you next week & thanks for stopping by..
So sorry for my absence, but things have been so crazy here-
I thought I would share a layout of the 1st day of school last year, since the last day of school for this year is quickly approaching..
I am so looking forward to the summer-
This is a 12x12 layout and if you have been following my blog for a while, you know that I love tags and pockets on layouts-
This pocket like most of my pockets on pages is just a place that I use to ground my layers and its a great place for me to use up little bits of things, tucking them here & there.
I happen to LOVE all things related to school(office supplies) so this layout was so fun for me to put together-
I hope you like it & if you have any questions, just ask and I will do my best to answer them..
Thanks for stopping by
I am back with a layout share today- This one is a 12x12 page I made from my son loosing his 1st tooth last summer.
He was a nervous a wreck that the tooth fairy wasn't going to find him in Texas, since he lost it while we were on vacation. Rest assured she made it just fine, and he was a whole dollar richer in the morning.
This page was really just made with 2 sheets of card stock & a boat load of ephemera, and looks awesome considering it was so basic.
Well, Thanks for stopping by today-
If you have any questions just let me know.
I will be back next week with more...
Have a great day & I hope everyone has a chance to be crafty this weekend celebrating NSD!!..
Looks like I accidentally let last week pass me by.. Sorry I forgot to blog.. UGH!
My days have been quietly lately so I have no excuse.. lol
I thought I would post today a very recent layout that I completed.. This happens to be a 8.5x11 size and it's from the day my sweet girl got her braces..
I saw this circle background idea and I thought I would change it up a bit & make it cute yet simple.
I titled it " Your New Smile" with the Beautiful die cut from simon says as an extra ..
As usual I added my stamped element, and this one is from Jillibean Soup, the Love This was from one of their newest stamp sets that I picked up over at my Joanns.
Very happy with how it turned out, and the best part-my little princess likes it too!
Would love to hear your thoughts or comments...
Thanks for stopping by today..
I am sharing a really fun layout that I showed on my YT video last week, and I just love it!
It's from Valentines Day this year, and I scrap lifted this payout layout from Laura Vegas.. Love her stuff.
This layout wasn't hard at all to put together & actually the hardest part was picking the papers that would coordinate with all the different colors in the valentines themselves.
I also used one of my new Favorite products, photo overlays-man I love those things..
I used an overlay from Crate Paper, the DIY collection over my cute photo of my kiddos, and I love the pink & teal hue it gives to my B&W pic.
I used up a bunch of old old product on this page...woot woot!!
I hope you like it!
I will be back next week, I've got some pictures to start taking- honestly that is the one thing that I don't like the most about blog posts..
My craft space is in my basement & there are no windows in my room, so I will wait for a Sunny Day and take a bunch, and then I will have them ready to go..
Alright so long for now...
Have a Great Weekend!!
I am here today with another layout, this one is a 12x12 share.
I so love the polaroid trend and this was my first real chance to give it a try on a layout.... Love the way it turned out-
This was scrap lifted from a layout I saw online somewhere, but sadly I don't remember where :(
I tend to save pics that I like, and if the photo isn't watermarked I don't remember usually...
I want to try and get better at writing names down if there is one...
Sadly Pinterest stuff sometimes is repined so often that you can't ever find the original post...
But anyways.. back to the layout-
So as I was saying, I saw a very similar idea online and loved it-
I was able to use up a bunch of old stickers & bits that have been sitting around my space for a while...
I printed my journaling on vellum and put it on the top n bottom of my polaroids, so cute I think
Well, I would love to hear your thoughts
Thanks for stopping by today-
I'm back with another layout share, this one is 8.5x11 orientation and I just love it!
So a while back Stampin' Up! had a fun summer DSP collection, and I bought it for some of the pattern papers that were in the collection, never knowing if this cherry paper would ever get used..
I was so happy when we went cherry picking because I was finally able to use up the paper & some OA stickers that were in my stash for a while too.
We had such a fun day & I took a ton of pics, I decided to make a collage of photos. As you can tell, this layout has very little embellishments, so this one I whipped out pretty quick.
Super Cute... "Cherry-Licious"!
Alright...Well here's wishing you a happy weekend, I will be back next week...
Thanks for stopping by
I am taking a layout share break to show you a card I re-purposed for a Challenge at You Tube.
Over @ Patty Sandberg's channel she is hosting a repurpose challenge that I knew I had to enter-
I thought I would share with you a little background on this card pictured here:
A while back I would go to craft shows and sell my cards at local churches etc, but I then stopped that & was left with a huge amount of inventory, and I am slowly trying to work my way through my massive stash.
Now I have only a handful of maybe 30 or so cards left, but let's just say in the years that have gone by, styles have changed A LOT!! I mean I used a Crimper for goodness sakes in this card, when is the last time you have used that tool...? lol
So anyways- my niece's 4th birthday is coming up right around the corner & she loves Ballet, so I thought here's my chance to give this not so great looking card some new life...
So this top picture shows the card before and the middle one shows the card dismantled and ready for a re-do. I was able to re-use everything except I did toss the crimped paper & the pink, just because I really couldn't get it to work for me..
I was even going to re-stamp the ballet shoes and color them with my markers & then fussy cut and add with some dimensionals on top, but sadly I have since sold that stamp set on ebay...
So onto Plan B which was to do some shading on the image and add some bling & sparkle...
Here is the final card, made into an A1 (rsvp) size and the inside already had a Happy Birthday sentiment stamped so I was good with leaving the outside sentiment free-
I pulled out & added two old patterned papers and that was it.. Way better than the 1st version: I think anyways...
Thanks for stopping by today- Hope you all have a great week!!
I am back today-from beneath the crazy crazy amounts of snow that we have here-literally
with another layout share.
I have to apologize for this picture, the lighting is terrible.. :( I tried fixing it and it just wouldn't work...
Ok, so I am sharing an 8.5x11 size layout that I made of my son learning to ride his two wheeler, and I have to say it is one of my 2013 Favorites for sure.
I printed my pictures in black & white because I knew that I wanted to use this bright paper collection.
If you have a specific question about what products I used where, I'll be happy to tell you, just send me an email..
Lots of different goodies went into this, and it came together pretty fast-
Well, alright- I'm off to try and stay warm & pray to the heavens above that my kids have school tomorrow.. enough already-really!
Thanks for stopping by today & have a Great Week!
Thought I would share that my January Scrappy Goal is complete!! Woo Hoo!
I used this old set of fabric strips, not even sure what manufacture these are from anymore, but I have been passing over them for at least 5 years.. Not sure why I hadn't gotten rid of them, but I was keeping them around for something... lol
So here is a pic of the strips and then the other pic is of the cards I made with them-
This went super quick and where ever I needed more color or strips I used Washi tape.
The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Paper Smooches...
Would love to hear what you think...
Hope you are all having a great week!
